The Best Theatre This Autumn

Let’s face it, autumn is here, the cold is ushering in and as the great Starks say… Winter is coming. We had a great summer, but sadly it is almost at its end. So what better way to spend it than at the theatre? Here is a peek at my top three shows that I cannot wait to see in the coming weeks.

Follies

National Theatre’s production of Sondheim’s Follies opened recently, it has a stellar cast including the amazing Imelda Staunton. Who better to explain the show than the cast…

Follies has had many revivals with some amazing actors, Bernadette Peters, Elaine Paige, Donna McKechnie and Victor Garber to name a few. For the hardcore Sondheim fans, Follies has the classic songs Broadway Baby, Losing My Mind and I’m Still Here. But for those who are not familiar, here is Danny Burstein singing The God-Why-Don’t-You-Love-Me Blues at the 2012 Tony Awards.

I’m thoroughly excited for Follies, tickets are available here and can be easiest bought at National’s Friday Rush but with good availibility in the coming weeks.

Cat on a Hot Tin Roof

Tennessee Williams. Young Vic. Sienna Miller. Jack O’Connell. That taster though…..unhhhhh i can’t wait. A few snaps were released as you can see below. How amazing does that look?

Luckily, there is a 20 pound ticket lottery on the TodayTix App for those of you feeling lucky. Otherwise tickets are available here.

Hair

To celebrate 50 years of letting the sun shine in, an immersive production of Hair is happening in early October. The Vaults is becoming a venue for some great immersive experiences, previously hosting Trainspotting, The Twits and currently Alice ‘s Adventures Underground. This production of Hair, by Hope Mill Theatre had rave reviews in it’s first runs and will be a sure fire hit in London. We got a small glimpse of what is coming at West End Live. Tickets available here.

See you at the theatre!

Let me know what you’re most excited to see this autumn!
